1 Open the extension from the browser toolbar. Pin it for one-click access.
2 Configure your form in Opus: drag Text Input AI fields where you need AI output. Field names must match CoPilot AI-generated field list.
3 Choose the correct template in CoPilot AI Mismatched templates will not be exported to the Opus forms
4 Add patient context (demographics & any relevant history). The richer the context, the better the draft.
5 Start the encounter and speak naturally (doctor &/or patient). CoPilot AI can only detect 2 individuals at the moment.
6 Click Generate Note. Progress bar shows transcript processing.
7 Review & edit the draft directly in the extension. Make clinical corrections before export.
8 Click Export to Opus → select the destination document. AI fields auto-populate; click Save.

    • On Opus EHR, if your account has access: All Settings > Documents and Forms > Form Builder, ensure that your Form uses the components Text Input (AI Autofill)

  • Pre-validate AI fields by running a test export.

  • Use concise section headings so users can skim notes.

  • Check if the note templates on Copilot AI matches those with components on the Forms on Opus EHR.
    • One scenario would be using SOAP Note for the encounters, on Copilot AI, the correct template on the Settings > Note > Note Template. On Opus EHR, check for the Form Builder > the name of the document with AI Generated Field. The component Text Input (AI Autofill) should match it's AI Generated field to the note on the Copilot AI.
