How to Schedule a New Appointment

Use this guide to quickly create, edit, and filter appointments in the Schedule module of Opus EHR.

 

 

  1. Open Schedule

    • Click Schedule in the left sidebar.

  2. Create the appointment

    • Select New Event (upper-right) or drag on the calendar.

    • Choose Appointment as the event type.

  3. Select the patient

    • Search for and pick the patient.

    • Click More Patient Information to view demographics if needed.

    • Insurance and diagnosis codes auto-populate.

  4. Set details

    • Adjust date, time, place of service, and room.

    • Optional: toggle Make Event Recurrent and choose days or months.

    • Pick the service to be delivered.

  5. Save

    • Click Save. The appointment appears on the calendar with its status color.


     

Manage the appointment

If you want to make changes to the existing appointment, here are the steps:


    • Click the appointment to:

      • View all details.

      • Attach or request documentation.

      • Edit (pencil) or Delete (trash can).

      • Follow Up (calendar icon).

      • Update Status (Show, No-Show, Canceled, Canceled Late).

Filter & view options

the filter and view options allow the user to further customize what they see on the appointment screen.
    • Left panel filters: Status, Provider, Documentation Status, Patient, Service, Room.

    • Toggle Show My Patients Only for your caseload.

    • Switch between Day, Week, Month, or Provider views; navigate dates with the arrow controls.
