Reuse Answer Choices with Collections in Opus Form Builder

What is a Collection? A Collection is a saved list of answer choices (e.g., “Yes / No / Maybe” or “1–10 scale”) that you can quickly apply to any Dropdown, Single Choice, or Multiple Choice field. Instead of re-typing or rebuilding options for every form, you store them once and reuse them everywhere—keeping data consistent and saving time.

Scenario Collection Benefit
Adding extra options to an existing dropdown Edit the Collection—no need to delete the field or recreate answers
Standard rating scales across many forms Maintain one master “1–10 Rating” Collection for perfect consistency
Company-wide yes/no questions Update the two-option Collection once; every linked field updates automatically

Prepare & Use a Collection

  1. Create or Edit the Collection first
    • Go to Settings › Collections.
    • Click New Collection or select an existing one to edit.
    • Enter or update the list of answer choices (one per line).
    • Click Save.

  2. Apply the Collection in Form Builder
    • Open Form Builder and add or select a Dropdown, Single Choice, or Multiple Choice component.
    • The drop-down below the collections pulls up the existing collections you have on the settings page.

Need to add another option later?
Return to Settings › Collections, edit the list, and click Save. All linked fields update automatically—no need to touch each form.

Edit or Remove a Collection

Detach a field from a Collection On the form builder, either select "Custom" or choose another option from the "Collections" dropdown
